Bodiam Castle
A way too long-postponed visit. A very special location. Years of history, years, hundreds of years of surviving the elements, what a construction! This amazing landmark had to be photoghraphed!
I have spotted Bodiam Castle some two years ago, on the National Trust's website, or phone app. One cannot be certain. But I said to myself then and there: You have to go there! I approved but didn't actually go. Maybe the two hours in traffic or some other interesting situations "stopped" me to go. Until last week, when I decided that enough it's enough.
Grabbed the camera bag, and the tripod, packed a sandwich, and my water bottle, stuffed them all in the top box of the bike and left.
Arriving at the location, I parked the bike, and it was such a nice surprise to see the castle from the car park.
I really liked the architecture, I loved the moat, which makes it look so special and unique.
Of course, I had to take long exposures, of course, I had to fiddle with the filters and the composition, how could I not take my time to take a few pictures?
And after that, I wandered through the walls. I knew that the inside is in ruins. Quite interesting, as, the outside, it looks untouched. I've climbed all the towers and visited all the rooms, it wasn't too difficult as they are not many.
A very well-spent day! I'm positive I am going to visit it again, maybe over winter, try to get some pictures in the sunset light.
