Timisoara - Romania
I had to rush to my home country for a couple of days at the start of last week. Obviously, my camera and a couple of lenses had to claim some of the already limited luggage space—there was no way around it!
I found the city of Timisoara in full bloom; spring was asserting itself strongly there. But it wasn't the blooming flowers or the bustling bug life that was the highlight of my visit. No.
That place belongs to the city’s architecture, the amazing change in light, as the evening was drawing closer, the town preparing to celebrate Easter and an unexpected portrait session with Andre, a cool teenage guy I met while visiting one of Timisoara’s beautiful parks.
We struck up a conversation about various topics, from politics to weather, and then I decided to move on to explore a different park. Andre kindly offered to show me the way. As we walked, I realized it would be a good idea to take portrait pictures of him.
I snapped some pictures by a bench, and then we set out to find some graffiti; I thought a modern backdrop would complement this cool dude with his skateboard.
What a great talent! Posing seemed like second nature to him; he just knew how to do it. Great job, dude! I really liked the results, and he did too when I sent him the pictures a few days later.
I've long dreamed of visiting my home country for a few days and capturing images of the lovely mountains and rich nature, but this time I couldn’t. Hopefully soon.
Until then, I am grateful for the images I've collected.
And a few from Andre’s impromptu portrait session.
