What once it was… it is no more…
I’ve visited Pin Mill this weekend, too long has passed since my last rendevous. Three years that is, - I just checked - long, too long.
I was longing to rediscover the boats that went to join the sea, more exactly, the ship cemetery. I remember that it used to be a bit more cheerful. Apologies… I must choose a different description.
I went there the first time, in late 2020, just before the second lockdown, in November. Then I returned in December (full story here) as I ran out of time.
My opinion on the place… yes, a ship cemetery, but… somehow, majestic, overflowing with history and grandeur. I was in awe, not having enough time spent there, picture after picture… walking around, the tide came in, and I had to run… and promise myself that I’d be back, to find a better angle, or maybe try again at sunrise or sunset…
Some things are better done quicker, as time is unforgivingly passing… and I shall repeat myself: what once was, it is no more. I have found only a couple of ships there. The one ship that I was planning to frame with some glorious sunset… is not there anymore. It has been reclaimed by the water. Gone!
I still managed to take a few pictures, to somehow, make my trip worthwhile. But I would like to learn from this, and try to make my goal for the next year, - because, yes, The New Year is upon us - to try and not postpone things too long, or at all.
I must finish this post more joyful, for it is time to celebrate! Happy New Year to you all! May you find happiness and all your New Year’s resolutions be fulfilled!
