Lockdown: Super telephoto lens
We're still in lockdown and it's still quite cold out there. I took the bike out yesterday, but I kinda got over my head with the ride and I forgot to look around for something to shoot. Considering the low temperature I didn't want to go too far, and well long story short: went hunting for something to shoot. I enjoyed the ride a bit too much and didn't photographed anything, returned home empty-handed, but worry not. I got it covered! Back to the archives!
For today I have prepared something different. I'm going to write a bit about the biggest boy in my lens line up. The super zoom telephoto. Made by.... wait a minute. No one cares about the lens, what's the point of describing who build them and why? I'm just going to add that those lenses are bringing closer to the viewer the subject without disturbing or scaring it away, also allowing the photographer to spot a lot of amazing details.
Well, I should add some pictures! Starting with a nice cheese. Just delicious! I did crop the images, to get a bit closer I would need another piece of equipment but I don't think it makes sense to own it now. How many pictures of the moon one can take? They are all the same after a while...
Next subject on the list: a bit of wildlife. Well, not really wildlife, no tigers and giraffes. I tried... but didn't found any on the common or at the Hatfield Forest. These subjects found there are a bit shyer than the moon, so a lens with a longer focal range becomes really handy. Pictures!
I do have in the archives some pictures with some very friendly seals. I should have probably added them in this post but I'm kinda considering writing a new one based on that day. I took some other kind of pictures then. Maybe that's going to be next week. By the look of the weather and the lockdown, it seems like I'm going to search those archives for another while.
On the super-telephoto lens... I like the results. I do need to whine a bit, just a bit. Those lenses are heavy! I know 1930 grams might not be much. With a camera, the total weight goes to 2.5 kilograms. Again, maybe it's not a lot. I just remember trying to hold the whole thing steady when I was taking the pictures... it's quite a battle. I should probably start to do some weight lifting... who could tell that this photography path can be so demanding?!
