Fireworks!
Saffron Walden, the town where I found the warmth of a home for the last eleven years. A beautiful town with kind and great people, and many amazing events, like the fireworks organized last Saturday.
For many years I worked on the firework evening, but even so, I could witness this joyful event from afar. For one instance I was too, like some other thousands of people, there, on the common, cheering and joyning the countdown to the first sparks.
I wanted to take pictures during this event for the last three years. The first time, I believe that I was still a bit too shy to take the camera out in the big crowd, the second time it was last year, the event didn't happen as per very well-known reasons, but this year...
This year, I have managed to do it! Thanks to my good friend and colleague Stuie. An amazing and very talented photographer, to whom I look up, always, who taught me many things, during those many chats on the subject of photography. Thank you Stuie!
We had quite a few discussions about the best location... where shall we "camp"? From which spot shall we take pictures? Thought, talked and in the end, decided that on the common is probably the best place to be. So, there we were, very early, at half five in the evening, setting up the tripods and going through the settings for the fifteenth time.
Three, two, one... And I am going to let the pictures describe the rest of the post. I just want to add big thanks to the organizers, well done and that I had an amazing time, I am very happy that I managed to do it, looking forward to the next year!
